Traditional Wood Lathe Work
Practicing woodturning since I turned 40, I enjoy carving organic shapes from raw logs. I operate a **Fox F46-717** wood lathe. Among the array of tools, my favorite is definitively **the skew chisel**. It is a demanding, edge-sensitive blade that tolerates no angular error, but when managed with care, it slices wood fibers so cleanly that almost no final sanding is required. I produce functional bowls, decorative lighthouses, hollow vases, glasses, and spinning tops.
3D Printing Architecture & Fine-Tuning
In parallel to timber work, I engage in digital fabrication. I manage heavily modified Creality Ender 3 and Ender 5 machines. Both units run **Klipper firmware** driven by Raspberry Pi computers, allowing acute control of pressure advance, mechanical input shaping, and velocity. I refine every structural aspect: frame stiffness, belt resonance tuning, and step-extrusion slicing profiles.
CAD Modeling & Flow Simulation Goals
To produce functional prototypes or mechanical adapters, I model geometry inside **3D Builder** and **SolidWorks**. My current developmental goal is to master the **Flow Simulation** module within SolidWorks to validate and link my mechanical designs directly to my ongoing fluid dynamics analysis.
